Dr. Martens opened their first flagship store in Rosebank Mall on the 17th October 2014. I had such a ball that night. They had a band playing in the store which was so much fun. They also had typical American food being served throughout the night, from burgers to donuts and Corn dogs! I have never owned a pair, I remember really wanting a pair though! It’s so exciting that we now have our own store in South Africa. Their style is so diverse, I would love to own a floral pair.
Throughout the history of the brand, Dr. Martens has celebrated free thinking individuals for whom the mantra ‘stand for something’ is not merely a thought but a way to live. Those who stand out from the crowd for their inimitable way of seeing the world. People who have brought a pair of Dr. Martens along with them on their journeys of self expression.
While Dr. Martens have been available in South Africa for the past five months exclusively in selected Edgars stores, the flagship store will open doors in the newly refurbished Rosebank Mall and is expected to draw in crowds from around Gauteng. The store will showcase the S/S -14 range of shoes, apparel and accessories, including ranges for both kids and adults. The ever popular 1460 boot and the recognisable 8-eye detail has been favourite for years – and now these and many more are available to South Africans in a range of different designs all year round.
Ladies can look forward to a range of colourful, casual and rugged looks, and men can keep an eye out for the classic boot range as well as a range of formal dress shoes with an edge. Dr. Martens also offers a unisex range of boots and shoes in white, black and cherry red. Parents can now also style their young ones with the childrens Black Patent boots.
