Now I know this is not a new concept and that I am kind of late to jump on the band wagon, however I am so happy to finally have made the effort to download the APP and interact with people.
This all started a couple of months ago, I started seeing billboards advertising Zomato and I am a lover of food at heart – being Portuguese it’s kind of second nature.
So if you are wondering what Zomato is, take a look at this illustration:
Did you know that Zomato is the world’s fastest-growing restaurant discovery platform, now in 26 countries? Well now you do! I was pretty impressed with the APP in general. It brings together a community of people who love food and know where to find the best food and share it with people. Its really interesting reading about what people think of a certain restaurant but most of all finding a restaurant you never knew existed and it turns out becoming your favourite place to go!
I find myself searching Zomato the minute I get to a restaurant and sit down. Then I check in and let the fun begin. Photos, reviews, great food and laughter! This is literally the Facebook of food!
Another great fact – In South Africa, Zomato is the largest online restaurant guide, with information on over 10,000 restaurants.
Take a look at some of the other great features available on the APP:
In the future you will see more posts all over my social media platforms and my blog about #ZOMATOMEETUP’s. I had my first one last week at Simply Asia, the Thai food and noodle bar. I have actually never been there – shocking I know.
I was pleasantly surprised at how convenient the restaurants are in terms of ambiance and location, there menu’s definitely cater to a variety of dishes so you are not stuck ordering the same thing over and over.
Take a look at the dishes we had during the evening and some of my fun photos I took through the night.
STARTER: Sushi Platter
MAIN: #603 Ba -Mee Phad Thaley
DESSERT: Chocolate Spring Rolls, Thai Angels, Coconut Cake and Thai Brownies
The food was really delicious. I find noodles can be really grease, but these were not, they were full of flavour and the ingredients created a variety of textures which made the dish interesting. Buy the time we had dessert I was honestly stuffed but I could not resist taking a bite of each of the desserts. My favourite was the Chocolate Spring Rolls or as I would call them – the evil trolls.
PS: I met so many great people at the meet up, I cannot wait for the next one! Thank you Zomato and Simply Asia.

Welcome to the program! It’s so addictive! Not sure if you know, but if you click on the the yellow bar, then it will show you how far away you are from leveling up and how many people have seen your reviews 🙂 BCTC x
