Firstly I would like to mention that I cannot believe I am doing a whole post on a pastry. If you are a foodie, by now you have heard about the a Cronut. The Cronut is a hybrid of a doughnut and a croissant (lol). I spent the longest time hearing about how incredible a Cronut is and thinking, What is the big deal? Well I found out the other day. I attended a blog event and in my goodie bag was a Strawberry Cronut.
I kind of treated the Cronut as a foreign species, I took it out of the bag, cut it up, looked at every layer, even took a whiff of it. Then finally I took a bite and all resistance crumbled (silly I know). I personally feel that it tastes more like a donut that a croissant.It is such a smart concept, I am a little dissapointed that it was not a South African creation, however it is still delicious. I would probably try a plain one or chocolate one next time, yes there will be a next time. This particular Cronut is from Bella’s Patisserie one of my favourite bakeries at the moment..
