#AbsoluteBeauty: Lipstick Teeth Problems

IMG_0696

Hi Ladies,

One of my colleagues actually inspired this post – you know who you are if you ever read this).

If you know me then you know I have a lipstick obsession, I own a quite a large collection and wear a different shade every day – but damn it, probably 80% of the time I get to work with lipstick on my teeth even after I do the last sanity check before getting out of my car in the car park.

Regardless of my efforts I still get lipstick on my teeth and I have made it my mission to resolve this! Even more so now as my colleague makes it a point to tell me everyday.

So I went on line and did some research and I am happy to say that these tips work. I thought of photographing each tip but some just looked odd (read on and you will understand – Tip 3 – just saying).

Tip 1: Line your lips

Line your lips with a lip liner, I love using a nude shade but you may also match your lip liner to your lipstick. You can also fill in your lips with the liner.

Tip 2: Use a matte lipstick

Matte formula’s tend to transfer less however they are very drying on my lips. I do add lip balm occasionally which makes it bearable.

Tip 3: The finger trick

Form an “O” with your lips, put your index finger through the “O,” and slowly pull it out. You will then see a ring of lipstick around your finger which is usually the excess that lands up on your teeth.

Tip 4: Use base or concealer

I usually run my foundation brush or concealer brush over my lips and then add my lipstick as it cements the lipstick in place.

Tip 5: Blotting

Blot your teeth with a tissue and press your lips down onto the tissue, then reapply the lipstick and blot once again. This will seal the lipstick in place.

Tip 6: Use a lip brush:

You are able to control the amount of lipstick you apply,  which prevents excess lipstick transferring onto your teeth.

Tip 7: Always check your teeth

No matter where you are, always look at your teeth after applying or reapplying lipstick, there are no excuses, even your phone goes into selfie mode if need be!

Hope this tips are helpful! It is really something that has been bothering me so I decided to share my tips with you!Let me know if you have any other great tips in the comments section below.

Have a great weekend.Signature_zps224aa2d1
